25 Most Remembered Events in Modern US History – Where Were You & What Were You Doing?

tragedy-9-11-twin-towerWith television and mass media coverage the way it is nowadays, we’re bombarded with news events, predominantly violent, almost daily. With all the “goings on” in this country and the rest of the world, there are probably a few important days or dates you may remember more than others. Of course, this is all age-dependent. A lot of us can remember exactly where we were or what we were doing at the time the news came across the wires (be it on radio, television, or in more recent times, the internet). The focus here, for majority of Americans that are old enough to comprehend or at least moon_landingremember are events that shaped the country (sometimes the world) from World War II through present day. They range in scope from Pearl Harbor (Hawaii) being bombed in December of ’41 through the sudden death of Michael Jackson in late June of ’09 (barely 5 weeks ago at the time of this posting).

Do you remember where you were or what you were doing at the time of the events listed below?

Pearl_Harbor_AttackSee how good your ‘recall’ really is ….. of course some of you were not around during some of these major events ….. just as where you lived will determine whether you were affected by some events put on by the forces of mother nature (earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, fires, volcanoes).

Actual dates are listed as well as where the event occurred.

Are there any other notable (single day) events you would include if this list were updated?
