With summer drawing to a close, the kids heading back to school, and the long Labor Day weekend in sight, many of us look forward to the final getaway weekend of the summer. For some, it’s heading out to the beach for a day surfing, or maybe to the lake for boating, possibly to the river for fishing, still others to the mountain forests for camping. Maybe your weekend is closer to home for a BBQ in the backyard with family and friends or even to the stadium to enjoy a tailgate party before the game. Whatever your pleasure, it seems probable that the next likely day or event you may think
about, other than maybe something so insignificant as a family member’s birthday or anniversary (ha ha), is Halloween. In recent years, it looks like there is more fanfare about the grand event with many people really get caught up in the spirit. It has become a tradition for many to turn their house and/or yard into Hell’s Resort, the “lively” Haunted Cemetery or a replica of the fabled Transylvania from folklore or movie fame. So here you will find a mass compilation of songs and music that fit the occasion for your mp3 sound system or playlist to get things moving. Some of the songs here are obvious while others are not. Majority of the songs
featured here represent the subject matter of various haunting themes (ghosts, goblins, witches, skeletons, werewolves, zombies, demons, Dracula, the Devil himself, hell, haunted houses, graveyards, full moons, evil creatures, etc). A number of these come from various movies and television shows. Others are simply the eerie and spooky sound effects or instrumentals. There are even those that were never really meant to be associated with Halloween yet have similar trademarks that reflect with the night’s theme. There are a few revered cult favorite music icons out there whom you can associate most of their music with “fright night” (ie… Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, The Misfits, King Diamond). Variety abounds … there are the novelty songs, easy going kid’s favorites, mild-mannered oldies, classical masterpieces that go back as much as 300 years, instrumental
pieces, movie soundtracks, classic rock, modern rock, alternative, classic country, blues, punk, new wave, thrash metal, etc.) And to keep those Death Metal, Speed Metal or Thrash Metal fans satisfied, a number of their stuff is included here as well – since looking for hardcore sounds associate the night with the “3 M’s” – mayhem, murder and madness. There truly is something here for every taste in music and as well as every type of party atmosphere.
Happy Hauntings!
