Craving a snack?

Come on….. admit it! – We’ve all been there….. some more than others. Guilty as charged I must confess myself. But there are ways to be smart about combating that urge when it strikes.

Try using this handy-dandy list below to put together your own personal SMART SNACK ATTACK defense. Pick your favorites from the 10-calorie bites here to build a 200-calorie (or less) daily treat that satisfies you without packing on pounds. The magic number to stay under is the 200 calorie-limit rule. As the old Alka-Seltzer commercial said back in the 70’s ….. “Try it, you’ll like it” . All food items listed below are approximately 10 calories each (or as defined). See if you can put together your own “magic formula” to satisfy that urge without blowing your calorie intake or waistline.

Songs About Magic & Mystery

There’s an alluring fascination with magic and the occult. The Harry Potter movie and book series has brought the subject up often over the last few years. I haven’t come across too many music selections on this topic specifically, so I thought I’d give it a shot from my own collection of music. As with my other song lists I’ve done in the past, I’m trying to keep this list narrowed down to only those that mention magic, magical and magician within the title. I have deviated enough to include in the “bonus section” other songs that refer to magical potions or spells without crossing over to “luck, lucky, miracles, gypsy, witch, warlock, devil and Satan” titled songs. (That could very well be another post some time in the future.)  Other bonus material included here are songs with words that suggest magic potions or spells within the title such as “abracadabra, hocus pocus, potion, spell, illusion, disappear, wizard and voodoo”.

So, below you will find a fairly decent selection (with a wide span of years and music genres) of “magic and mystery” songs to make a playlist for your Ipod, mp3 player or cd to burn. They’re listed alphabetically along with the years they came out (in some cases) when known. More may be added if I get any suggestions or locate others “magically” 🙂
