Whatever you call them, stadium anthems, sports anthems, arena anthems, or jock jams, they’re generally “addictive” and well-known songs that are played over the public address system at stadiums and arenas all over the country to get a crowd of spectators and fans in attendance fired up for the big game. You will more than likely hear them during breaks to rally the fans as well as before, during and after the event.

Stadium anthems are characterized by a catchy up tempo rhythm and a repeated vocal call-response catchphrase, often a statement of pride or arrogance.

No matter what sporting event you’re attending, the music they play is used for crowd motivation – a way of getting the fans excited, pumped up, fired up, etc., especially when a team is on a roll or about to rally.
